We have a new garden! But how on earth did we get from this...
To this?...
With lots of help from our beaver, cub and scouts, parents, leaders and supporters. The concept for this project was devised by our very own beaver leader, Francesca Dunn, and below the photo gallery are the original plans.
The two grassed areas will allow for Tent pitching, gadget building and general fun and game. A camp fire circle will allow for us to teach camp cooking and fire building in a safe and controlled environment, as well as to have outdoor camp fires and BBQ's in the summer, for both social and fund raising purposes. Improvement of access through the renewal of the pathway and the side gate making it fully accessible to all and eventually at door from the back hall to the garden will help increase the usability of the space.

We need to include the wildlife in our plans and when we have the trees pollarded, we will fit bird boxes, and provide a safe haven at ground level for Stag Beetles – we found a male Stag Beetle in the garden a couple of years ago, and every effort to help with the preservation of this endangered species is important.
All of this takes time – one of our older members has already given his whole Easter leave to clear the garden, and work has been put in by all the leadership team. If you have expertise in this field and/ or time to offer as a volunteer to help with the landscaping , please contact us
